AN EXPLANATION: This is a political comic for my school's newspaper. My high school recently got it's accreditation taken away. Or maybe they're still in the threatening stages. I don't really know. But anyway, most of the reasons they gave for it were stupid. "The furniture doesn't match." They claim that the uglyness of the school distracts the students from learning. It's pretty stupid. Especially since our MCAS scores have actually been going up. (MCAS is a standardized test thing all us Massachusetts kiddies have to pass in order to graduate.) So yeah, my english teacher wanted me to draw a political comic. Here it is. Hopefully people won't hate it TOO much. ):

STUPID RAMBLING: Don't actually read this part. Just ignore it, nod your head, and say "Yes, Peter... Whateeeever you saaay..." I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of political comics. I've started reading the newspaper (The City newspaper, not that school one) and the opinion section just angers me. And NOT because I disagree with it. I actually agree with a lot of it. BUT, I still hate every comic and every column that appears there. All the authors and artists seem like arrogant, snobby, elitist, jerks who only want to piss people off. They don't bother to make good points about their opinions, they just make fun of the stereotypes of people who disagree with them. And the comic artists don't care about making good points OR being funny. They just draw people who with disgustingly exagerated features and use every cheap method they can to make them look stupid. And in turn, make people who have similar opinions to them look like stupid. And I also don't like people who try and force their opinions on others, which is what the opinion section is all about.

When my teacher asked me to do one I thought "HAH! Now's my chance to show those arrogant, snobby, jerks how to do it!" I tried to make a comic that dealt with the issue but was more concerned with being funny than making a point. And when I showed it to my mom she was like "I don't get it.. What's the point?" and I realized that political comics can't be like that. They have more responsibilities than normal comics. So I had to change it to one of my mom's ideas. In the end I learned that political comics are harder to make than I thought. So while I STILL don't really enjoy them, I realize now that I'm a hippocritical jerkface teenager who needs to spend less time complaining about what other people are doing and more time trying to not be such an idiot.

Also, I'm not going to start making comics again anytime soon. It's not as fun as it used to be. I'd rather just draw my stupid pictures. I HOPE THIS IS OKAY WITH YOU, INTERNET. ):
